NORTH HAVEN INDOOR BOWLS
It was a rather unusual night last week. With just 22 bowlers we had no three game winners. So as there were 7 pairs who had won 2 games and had 1 loss a draw was made and Barry Westaway and Margaret Caples came out winners of the 1st place vouchers and Bill Hyde and Guy Pittarino won the 2nd place ones. Winners of the scratchies came out of the other names - Ken Posker and Mavis Coates, Beryl Duck and Julie Colliss, Dorothy Greenaway and Betty Westaway, Barbara Woolgar and Betty Bradley.
A get well wish for our bowlers who are not feeling the best and hope all goes well for Barney with his operation. Names in by 6.45 for 7 o'clock start and all are welcome.

Sailing Club
A very variable Easterly breeze of around 6 to 10 knots presented the fleet some interesting tactical opportunities.
Hakuna Matata (Peter Lentz) took the lead soon after the start and looked set for an all the way win. However on the second reach a slightly stronger breeze saw Pendragon (Ray Lance sailing singlehanded) overtake the entire fleet, and assume the lead for the restof the race. The other five boats had a great race with positions changing frequently as first one then another was favoured by a wind- shift. Two small storm cells did nothing but contribute to the unpredictability of the wind direction, unlike the previous Saturday when a similar storm cell brought strong wind and rain.
First home was Pendragon followed by Serial Thrilla (Daniel Lance) and Hakuna Matata with the next three boats only 30 seconds apart.
On handicap Serial Thrilla won from Bumsteer (Greg Marshall) and Cocktail (Mark Holt), followed by Anything, Pendragon and Hakuna Matata.

Congratulations to the Under 6 side for their effort at the Port Macquarie Gala Day on Sunday. The boys won their age group winning three from three games in very hot conditions, and playing in the new club jumpers looked sensational. All the boys tackled, and for some playing their first game of footy did an amazing job. There were too many good players to name.
All the boys slept well Sunday Night." Well done Eagles.
U/8’s
It’s that time of the year again and yes the footy has started. The boys have been training the house down and didn’t it show on Sunday at the Port Breakers Gala day with the boy’s winning all three games coming up against Wauchope, Port Sharks Black and Forster Green. Their defence was outstanding with the boys tackling their hearts out and with points to burn the boys scored some outstanding tries with good ball movement. To Thomas, Max, Jack, Charlie, Brayden, Ben, Brad, Kaine, Davy and Ike, everyone was proud of your performance especially me. To Ike I hope your wrist will be ok and back on the paddock soon.
So lets keep up the hard work and the results will continue to come our way.
NEWS FROM THE
DRAGON BOATERS
Sunday 15th April saw us competing in the regatta at Taree with some level of success. Our Womens Sports Team competed in the Final for this division after qualifying by winning heats. Finishing a close fourth in the final. It should be noted that had they been able to repeat the time in which they won their heat, it was faster than the final winning time. Well done! Many of the womens crew paddled in the mixed crew who were also successful in reaching the final and being placed third.
Competitors came from Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Taree and Camden Haven.
Our Regional representatives are training hard and looking forward to their trip to Queensland.
On Sunday 21st March members took part in the Relay for Life at Port Macquarie raising funds for Breast Cancer awareness.

U/13 Junior Cricket
Grand Final
The last two Saturdays has seen Camden Haven play host to Port Panthers Pirates at Kendall in the Grand Final of the Hastings Junior cricket competion. Day one saw Camden Haven lose the toss and were asked to bat. When the Havens lost their first wicket, Angus Makin for 2 they were only on 17.Hayden Clarke joined captain Tyson Wiegold at the crease, these two set about compiling a competitive total. When Hayden fell for 23 the score was looking strong at 2 for 80. The Havens faced 23 overs in their hour and a half batting time, having Tyson retired on 30, Troy Morris and Garrett Baker were the not out batsmen. The challenge for the Havens was to now restrict the Port teams run chase as much as possible. The combination of brilliant bowling and rather poor batting saw Port all out for 55 off only 20 overs.Only six bowlers were needed to do the damage, Mitch Williams 4 overs 1 for 9, Josh Witchard 4 overs 2 for 7, Garrett Baker 2 overs 2 for 7, Angus Makin and Troy Morris went wicket less from their 3 overs each but both bowled exceptionally well, the bowling honours were with the Captain Tyson Wiegold leading by example 4.1 overs 4 wickets for only 1 run, an outstanding performance from a champion little cricketer.
Day two saw the resumption of Camden Havens first innings. When the last wicket fell in the 49th over the Havens had 170 runs on the board.Tyson not out 36, Josh Witchard his best score of 12 and Jason Buttris a well struck 11.To every ones surprise, Port elected to play on which meant the Havens start their second innings. The boys didn't mind as they saw this as an opportunity for batting practice and to also shut what ever chance Port may have had completely out. Tyson was out for 10, Brendan Galleghan 11 and this brought Angus and Hayden together at the crease, the two of them set about making Port rue their decision to continue on. The two batsmen once set, belted the ball to all parts of the ground, Angus finished on 30 retired, Hayden 31 retired with Mitch Williams 7 not out, the 14 overs faced saw Camden Haven on 2 for 88 when the umpire called a halt to the game.
The Premiership win is a wonderful reward for a wonderful group of youngsters. The team would like to say a big thankyou to Kim Williams for her efforts as our number one scorer for the season and a huge thankyou to Andrew Lowe for his assistance with coaching the team. If not for Andrews tuition and no nonsense attitude this win would probably not have been possible. From the team, thank you both very much.
