CH JUNIOR CRICKET
Camden Haven Under 9's
LUSC Camden Haven Under 9's played against the Port Macquarie Coastline Redbacks at Inmon Park. Captain Harry Forster lost the toss and was sent into a hot field. The Camden Haven bowlers struggled in the warm conditions with Brad Kneipp taking the only wicket in a dry lifeless pitch, Kade Beauchamp and Hayden Smith restricted some big hitting by the Redbacks. Brad and Kade also starred with the bat in a mammoth 51 run partnership mostly scored with boundaries. Not to be outdone were Tarn Duck and Hayden Smith who lead by example when it came to running between wickets which was practiced at training. Jai Gow and Thomas Nest kept the scorers busy with quick singles, while Layton Gray showed us all how to play with a straight bat, beautiful to watch Layton.
Camden Haven 12’s
In round 3 the team played at Wauchope. Camden Haven were too strong with 6/188 and Wauchope only managing 7/123. Top batsmen for the innings were Mitchell Dickson 55 not out, Blake Hudson 27 not out and Sebastian Grimson 22 not out. Great fielding by Nic Brown, Liam Boehme and Damien Hudson helped bowlers Tayne Wilson 2/17, Sam Langley 2/13 and Nathan Cameron-Hancock 1/16 secure their second win for the season.

LUSC Fishing Club
Gidday Punters, well before I get into the report I will give you a quick update on what has been happening since we last spoke. The Hayes boys have been at it again with young Peter landing a 19.2kg jewie, the heaviest for the year so far. Even the “Pelican” Bert Hayes has been getting amongst them with three fish in two weeks, a 13kg, 14kg and 16kg fish, jeez they must have been thick at their secret spot. Young Mitchell Lowe landed a nice flathead weighing in at 2.295kg which is the heaviest for the year so far, not a bad fish considering that we do not weigh any flathead over 70cm, well done boys.
Our November comp was a little disappointing due to the weather and the bags reflected this that were presented for your’s truly to weigh. But there is always one exception to that rule and that exception is Gary Edwards, Gary rolled up this week with a top bag of luderick, bream and flathead, which made the other bags including that of the Beach and Rock boys and girls, look very ordinary indeed. So I urge all of our members even if they haven’t caught anything to attend the weigh-in’s if only to have a yarn and a couple of beers as we are a social fishing club and it is always good to catch up with mates.
To the winners Junior Estuary winner Mitch Lowe, Men’s Estuary winner Gary Edwards. Mens Vets Estuary winner Peter Pritchard, runner-up Kiwi O’Neill. Men’s Beach and Rock winner Rob Atkins, runner-up yours truly Col Trenaman. Men’s Vets winner Bob Clarke. Well done to all that participated.
A reminder that our Christmas party is on Sunday December 5, at the club starting at 11am and our next fishing comp is on December 12 and 13 with weigh-in at 1pm sharp at the rear of the club, hope to see you all there. Our secret weight is now a staggering $75 for next weigh in so get in, have a go, catch a fish, cause you never know, wow I’m a poet. Until next time happy hunting.
