LUSC Men’s
Social Golf
Sunday morning saw 14 starters at Royal Kew for the first round of our single matchplay championships. Due to Pepe and Nibbs not being available in a fortnight they conceded to their opposition. You couldn’t have found a happier man than Phil not having to face Pepe. It was a pity because they were both in form on the day and it would have been a close match. Tony and Trevor played their game with Tony too good winning 3 and 2. With Bato’s day next week the second round will be played the following week. Those to play are Jolly vs Me, Paul vs Neil and Phil vs Mark should make for some interesting matchups. We also played a single Stableford on Sunday with some great scores coming in. Phil came in fairly with 34 points and was quietly confident until the last group came in with their score cards. Tony was on fire with 35 points even with a penalty for playing someone else’s ball. Les cleaned up the balls in A grade while in B grade Nibbs monstered the Longdrive and Phil took the NTP on the 9th. Matt was a bit dusty to start his round, his game didn’t get much better and he will be pretty in pink next start. Seats are filling up on the bus trip away so get your name in.

Grand Final Win
The 14 year boys produced some fine football Friday night to win their third consecutive final with a 2-1 win over Macleay Valley Rangers. Our boys gave all they had from the start and were rewarded in the first five minutes with a goal to Mitch Williams. From there they continued to pressure the Rangers and with 10 minutes to half time Lachy Moffat finished brilliantly into the bottom left to have us 2-0. The boys had many other chances and really dominated the first half.
To the credit of the Rangers they came back into the game in the second half and challenged our boys scoring a goal which let our boys know it was still game on. Final score 2-1.
Good luck for this Sunday’s games Champion of Champions played at Forster.
Go you Reds.
