The girls put on top display of surfing in Classic

SATURDAY’S (October 8) conditions were not ideal out of the water for spectators at Rainbow Beach Bonny Hills with a little rain and thunderstorms but in the water the conditions were almost perfect for the 2011 Mid North Coast Girls Surf Classic. The waves were 3 to 4 feet and glassy with a light SW wind blowing making off shore conditions idyllic for all our 70 competitors and 32 heats completed in the Shortboard, Longboard and Minimal divisions. Sunday Finals day bought the sunshine however the swell had dropped and the wind had swung around onshore but in the true spirit of surfing the girls and ladies took to the water and there was some hotly contested divisions.
