"It had been on display at Coles for a recent promotion," P&C President, Pauline Hearne explained.
The cut out will now feature in the photo booth stall, which is a new addition to the fair format for 2013.
"The photo booth stall will allow friends and family members to dress up in costumes and accessories and have some fun photos taken," Mrs Hearne said. "The images are transferred to a thumb drive, which is then yours to keep and to share with friends and family."
One Direction first came to prominence on The X Factor television talent show in the UK. They have since achieved international success and topped the charts with their albums Up All Night and Take Me Home.
The North Haven Public School Spring Fair is an important part of the school's fund-raising efforts. Mrs Hearne is hoping other businesses will also support the event with an unusual donation.
"We are looking for anything suitble for the show bags, raffle prizes and stalls," Mrs Hearne said.
"North Haven Public School would like to thank Coles for the donation, which will no doubt be well used at the photo booth stall."
Three North Haven students were lucky enough to be among the local winners in the Coles One Direction ticket promotion. Allison Murdoch, Callie Hearne and Holly Cook all won One Direction concert tickets exclusive to Coles.
The North Haven Spring Fair will be held on Sunday, September 15.
Donations can be left at the school office or pick ups can also be arranged.
