The truck had waited for the NSW TrainLink XPT to go through before attempting to cross the line at Dunwoodie Street Kendall. At 9.15am the truck carrying the building, weighing 9 tonnes, became "beached" on the rail line.
The builders at the building's intended destination and crane driver assisted the truck driver with a series of wedges and techniques to free the truck.
All rail and vehicle traffic was stopped for the period the truck was stuck on the line.
Representatives from TrainLink and police were at the scene.
