The field was in pristine condition, the weather was perfect & the Blues were up for a strong performance at home.
Harrington took to the field with a sizable outfit & a clear intent to play a physical game.
The Blues first challenge was getting through the Hurricanes defence which didn't take long when Lock forward Andrew Howe set the tone for the day with a strong run busting through the line & scoring the first try under the posts.
The Blues continued to display some impressive skills with tries going to Tyler Smith with 4, Alex Millar, Ben Webber, Daniel Minns ,Greg Harris & Blayne Bignell all crossing the line twice. Jake Kingston, Shaun Pearce, Joel Wilkes, Jacob Cook & Brad Smith all scoring one each. The score line was added by Daniel Minns kicking 17 from 20 goals making the final score 114 - 0.
Great efforts displayed by both teams with the Hurricanes giving an 80 minute performance that didn't reflect the score line.
Next week the Blues are at Port Regional Stadium on Friday night 24th of April taking on the Board Riders for a 7:15pm kick off. We hope to see as many supporters go as possible.
