Dean Riley, the north coast official of union CFMEU, said employees working on the new Pacific Highway section from the Oxley Highway to Kundabung began a 24-hour work stoppage on Thursday morning, December 15.
They’ll return to work on Friday morning, he said.
Mr Riley said that about 120 employees had taken action across the State.
It follows four months of negotiations between employees and the business over pay.
“Most of these guys are full time workers with families, these guys don’t want to take a pay cut,” Mr Riley said.
