I read in last week’s paper about the water restrictions that have now been imposed by our council – again, and isn’t it funny that this happened after the school holidays and not before or during.
I don’t know how many times I have been told that the council had adequate water supplies for us. What a joke. We have a pond, or what they call a dam, nearby and if anyone in the council thinks that is it is has an adequate water supply they are living on another planet. Build a dam or stop giving the OK for building suburb after suburb after suburb. Fix the problem before you create more.
I, like a lot of people think that Australia needs to build more dams, but of course that excludes the Greenies. We are hog-tied by the do-gooders who are ruining our country. They would probably be happy if we built a desalination plant like they built in Sydney some years ago. Of course it makes sense to them to let all our rivers run fresh water into the oceans so that we can pump it back out, take out the salt and then sell it.
The Sydney Morning Herald told us that “On Apr 12, 2015 - Sydney Desalination Plant chief executive Keith Davies said maintenance of the plant in 2012/13 cost $194.9 million, in 2013/14 it cost $192.7 million and to March this year it cost a further $147.1 million.” That was just for maintenance of the plant.
What do you think a dam or a desalination plant?
