“It was the best the team has bowled all season,” said wicket keeper Jim Dwyer.
Camden Haven’s Jack Doyle notched up a three wicket maiden, Alex Pratt took two wickets for ten runs and the bowlers had Port Macquarie at eight for 28. The final two batsmen for Port kept their wicket and put on impressive runs finishing at 9 for 63.
Port Macquarie showed why they lead the under 11 competition, said assistant coach Robert Dwyer. The home team came onto the field during the second innings wanting to win.
“Camden Haven had to dig deep. Port had us at three for just eight runs,” Dwyer said.
Adam Parish, Jack Smith and Charlie O’Brien steadied the Camden Haven ship and the winning runs were scored in the second last over.
