Omnicare Alliance’s The RED Conference will focus on practical dementia care in Port Macquarie on Wednesday, October 11.
Companies across the aged care sectors are encouraged to not only attend, but also be an exhibitor at the conference.
“We have had strong interest and registrations from both carers and service providers so far,” said Omnicare Alliance joint CEO John Carroll.
“I think the conference will speak to a wide range of people within the industry and community; interested in helping to support people living with dementia to live well with dementia.”
The RED Conference will provide a regional perspective on the work being done around dementia and dementia care, with attendees to hear from experts and specialists from overseas and Australia on practical hands on approaches to dementia care.
The program will cover a wide variety of topics to suit all, including people living with dementia, carers, service providers, care staff, field workers, clinicians and the community.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings, Myall Lakes and Tweed Heads electoral districts all feature in the top three dementia prevalence rates in NSW state electoral districts.
Omnicare Alliance is now the single largest aged and disability care support provider on the Mid North Coast, following the merger between four local not-for profits – Hastings District Respite Care, Meals on Wheels MNC, Hastings Home Modifications and Parklands Cottage.
Omnicare Alliance will provide services to the communities in Port Macquarie, Sawtell, Kempsey, Wauchope, Camden Haven, Taree and the Greater Lakes.
The conference is on Wednesday October 11 at The Glasshouse from 8.45am until 5pm.
