Midcoast Garden Friends members learnt about propagation techniques, automated potting and watering systems during a visit to wholesale nursery Branch’s Horticultural Enterprises in September.

The nursery specialises in raising a large variety of plants from seedling to punnet size ready for sale in retail outlets. Dorothy Branch took the group on a tour of the nursery.
The next meeting for Midcoast Garden Friends is on Tuesday, October 3 at 10am at Bonny Hills Community Hall. There will be the opportunity to discuss garden problems and their solutions.
Guest speaker is Anthony Redolfi who will talk about and his travels around Australia and show slides of the places he visited and the plants he observed.
If people have any special garden blooms they are encouraged to take them for display as well as any plants and produce for the trading table. Morning tea will be provided.
Members are asked to bring a mug and a small plate of food to share. New members and visitors are welcome join and share their interest in gardening.

As part of National Gardening Week Midcoast Garden Friends will be donate a tree to Lake Cathie Public School for planting. National Gardening Week runs from October 8 until October 14 and this year the theme is Dig in and Celebrate.
