Ibrutinib (sold as Imbruvica®) would normally cost $187,390 on average per course of treatment, putting it beyond the reach of most patients.
This $466 million listing on the pharmaceutical benefits scheme will not just save patients hundreds of thousands of dollars but it will also change lives.
From 1 December 2017, it will cost a maximum of $38.80 per treatment and just $6.30 for concessional patients.
It will be available to eligible patients with relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukaemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma.
Part-pensioners on Mid-North Coast to get Pensioner Concession Cards reinstated
In reinstating the cards, the Coalition government is ensuring nearly a thousand former part-pensioners across our region will again be able to access benefits, including discounted council rates and public transport.
The Pensioner Concession Card will be automatically reinstated from Monday, October 9, and it’s expected that all those eligible will have their card within the next fortnight.
First World War Armistice commemoration grants
Next year we will pause and reflect upon the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and the Coalition government is providing $50,000 in grant funding for community commemorations.
I strongly encourage groups across the Mid-North Coast to apply for funding under the Armistice Centenary Grants Program to mark this important milestone in Australia’s History.
