Chloe Saunders, Jamie Cone, Shai Bower and Stephanie Ostler will play higher honours this weekend for the Tomahawks in Narrabeen.
They will also be accompanied by the under 17 Tomahawks which is the first time the two teams will play at the same competition together.
Thunder coach Paddy Bowen is taking reins of the best in the zone.
Fresh off the back of a successful coaching stint with the University of New England in the AON University Series, Paddy was confident in the Tomahawks team.
“It’s a really good mix of players from all over our zone, with some speed out wide and muscle through the middle… bit of a MNC dream team,” he said.
A successful Olympic campaign has seen the sport grow among female players, and is booming on the Mid North Coast.
The Tomahawks will also feature former Australian player and local product Emma Gillogly.
Asked who New South Wales selectors should look out for Paddy candidly replied, “all of them” with a big smile.
The Tomahawks are about to commence summer training for the 15-a-side game under women’s rugby guru Steve Lee.
With strong numbers, they will be looking for a podium finish at Country Championships next year.
Asked how they will fare this weekend, Paddy replied: “Steve Lee has given me the keys to the Ferrari so I better not bring him back a Mazda.”
