Laurieton’s Bruce Porter Reserve and Dunbogan Reserve will each get a two-lane boat ramp and pontoon.
The projects were successful through the state government’s Boating Now Program round two.
The state government is providing $570,000 to the two projects.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is contributing $520,000.
The resident who didn’t want to be named said the car park at the Camden Haven Marine Rescue can get very crowded especially on the weekends.
“Sunday is usually a big day for fishing but when the Laurieton Market is on too it can be very difficult to find a place to park in that area,” he said.
The resident said the council hasn’t looked at the ‘bigger picture’ when allocating funding for the boating facilities.
He said the facilities will attract more people to the area but there will be no where for them to park.
The spokesperson said the construction of a car park at Bruce Porter Reserve would be subject to additional funding.
He said there is already parking a lot of parking facilities at locations near the reserve including on Tunis Street.
The council spokesperson said the parking spaces at Dunbogan Reserve are set to be upgraded with new line markings and signage for user improvement.
He said the construction of the new boating facilities is expected to take place towards the later half of 2018.
