I am a relatively new resident to the area (three years) and I was absolutely stunned by the comments published in the Camden Haven Courier’s community notes section on Wednesday, May 23 in regards to the Batar Creek development for the Manufactured Home Estate.
The homes and streets in Kendall are not exactly beautiful, neat and that of a thriving village. There are some homes that certainly need some love and gardens that need a make over. One could say in some areas they are quite unattractive and in need of attention.
All I can make of these comments by the letter writers is fear of progress and a fear of change.
The writers of those letters need to take a deep breath and look around. Kendall is lacking life and there is no real infrastructure in place. There’s no chemist, doctors, supermarket or fuel supply immediately available. Why would you fight progress which would lead to services and upgrades for roads, other improvements and even increases in home and land value?
Some of these Manufactured Home Estates are extremely well run and attractive. You may find if you embrace this development and the new residents it may well surprise you.
I for one would embrace and look forward to seeing better services and infrastructure come to Kendall as it would enhance the lifestyle of all especially the elderly residents. Try having an open mind and attitude and you may see things with a new vision and all will be thriving in Kendall for many years to come.
