Over the last three months Taylor and her fiancee Tom Bateman have raised $8000 to support the foundation’s initiatives and research to improve health outcomes for blood cancer patients.
Taylor said her father-in-law is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.
As part of the fundraising effort, Taylor’s employer Club North Haven raffled off one of Madonna’s original guitars she played on her Material Girl tour.
“It was donated to the club by an anonymous North Haven donor,” Taylor said.
“It’s hard to put into words just how generous that gesture was.”
Taylor, Tom and 11 volunteers shaved their heads as part of the Greatest Shave in March.
Taylor said the event was on at the time her father-in-law started to lose his hair due to treatment.
“It’s just a small gesture but it means we’re all united in this battle together,” she said.
Taylor thanked the community for its support.
