Crews from Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Rural Fire Service were called to the bush fire at 2.13pm on Herons Creek Road at Herons Creek.
NSW RFS Mid North Coast district officer Stuart Robb said crews managed to contain the eight hectare fire and will spend the next few days mopping up after the incident.
Mr Robb said residents can expect to see smoke at the location.
The north-easterly winds and warm temperature, Mr Robb said fueled the fire in the afternoon.
The NSW RFS is urging residents to be vigilant and ring triple zero immediately if they see a fire without any fire trucks at the location.
Mr Robb said it’s important people have a bush fire survival plan, as it’s predicted there will be more warm days before a cool change later in the week.
