A new season of the Mid North Coast Softball is due to start on October 12 . After finishing second in the B Grade competition last year the club is very keen to field two teams this year.
The club will be known as the Laurieton Lightning. If a second team can be formed they will be known as the Laurieton Thunder.
The club is looking for high school girls and young women who are keen to learn.
Softball is a sport for all-rounders as throwing, catching, hitting and running skills are all needed.
Games are played in Port Macquarie each week on Saturday and training in Laurieton.
The season breaks before Christmas and starts again after Australia Day.
The club will host a come and try morning on Sunday, September 8 between 10am and 11am at Laurieton Oval.
The club has many experienced players and coaches to help people learn the game.

Softball will make a return at the Tokyo Olympics next year.
Australia is one of only two teams to win medals at all four Olympics that the game has been played in, winning one silver and three bronze medals.
