Hundreds attended the A Day for Laylah fundraiser at Laurieton United Services Club.
Kiera said she was completely overwhelmed with the amount of support displayed by members of the community, not only at the fundraiser but also in the lead up.
"Although money doesn't change Laylah's horrible and heartbreaking diagnosis, it absolutely does help with the stressful financial burden this journey places on you," she said.
"I hope that each and every person who contributed to the phenomenal amount of over $50,000, knows the impact it will have on Laylah's battle to fight DIPG.
"Until you are unfortunately, thrown into the world of cancer, you have no idea about the costs that come with the unbearable heartache."
Kiera said one of Laylah's medications costs over $5000 a month.
"This will give you all an idea of the incredible impact the money raised will have on our family, giving us one less thing to stress about, on top of the everyday pain that tears at us each day," she said.
Kiera initially took Laylah to the doctor in May this year, after she noticed her walking had been off balance and she had been suffering from dizziness and headaches.
After an emergency MRI scan Laylah was diagnosed with diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG).
Kiera said the family continues to pray each day for a miracle to help Laylah.
Laylah's extended family members including her aunts, uncles, cousins and grandfather live in the Camden Haven region. Kiera said Laylah would move to her favourite place in 'a heartbeat'.
