Laurieton resident Rob Russell is set to vote at the state election but he said he is very disappointed with the way politicians have been acting.
"They only seem to pop up around election time," he said.
Rob said he believes majority of funding for projects goes to Port Macquarie for improvements.
"It's the same old, same old," he said.
"Everything goes to Port."
Rob hopes more funding is allocated to developing infrastructure in the region to address ongoing development in the area.
He would also like to see the Schools to Schools pathway project completed.
Rachael Weatherall said she would like there to be more support for working parents.
Rachael works at a school and puts her daughter Aubrey into childcare.
She said it can be costly for parents who have time off work and choose to look after their child during this time. Rachael said in many cases parents still need to pay for child care costs, despite the child not being present.
Jo Rogers said her vote will go to whoever has the most progressive policy for climate change in relation to renewable energy.
Another issue she would like to be addressed is more support for seniors with the implementation of keep healthy programs available in the community. Jo said this will keep people independent and in their home for longer.
"I believe we need a proactive aged care prevention strategy," she said.
Larry and Cathy Mason said they would like to see more funding put towards health and aged care.
With an ageing and growing population they would like there to be an increase of services available to the community. They said this would mean people wouldn't have to travel to access specialist services in Sydney or Newcastle.
Meanwhile Robyn Wallace said she would like to see the condition of Lake Cathie addressed.
"It would be good to see it open," she said.
Robyn would also like funding to go towards supporting health care programs to keep people independent and in their homes for as long as possible.
