Cr Pinson will outline her proposed plan at the October council meeting.
"If we do nothing moving forward, the project will remain stuck and the most important sections of the Beach to Beach pathway will not see construction," she said.
"I am committed to working with the Beach to Beach committee and council staff to ensure the detailed designs and then Environment Impact Study are completed in preparation for the sections of D3 and D5 to be constructed."
The news comes after hundreds attended a public Beach to Beach pathway meeting on Wednesday, September 11.
The pathway's committee is advocating and working to connect the Camden Haven, through 11 kilometres of safe access between Pilot Beach and North Haven Beach.
At the meeting, a resident raised the question of why the funding and provision of safe pathways and roads has fallen on the responsibility of a volunteer organisation.
The committee's president Penny Small said the projected cost for completion of the pathway currently stands at $9.5 million, whereas a decade ago the cost was given as $750,000.
Over several years the Beach to Beach Riverwalk pathway committee has hosted a number of fundraisers and has been working with the NSW Government and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to secure a number of grants.
Mrs Small thanked everyone who attended the public meeting and said the community message was "strong, simple and came across clearly".
"The Beach to Beach pathway, in particular sections D3 and D5, are a serious risk to human life and must be completed as a matter of urgency," she said.
Mrs Small is urging residents to contact councillors to support the Mayor's push at the October meeting.
"What a powerful message this would be and a way to secure funding for the next vital steps," she said.
At the public meeting on September 11, Cr Peta Pinson and Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams said they thought the implementation of the pathway was a priority and would continue to do all they could to support the project.
Cr Pinson said she will continue to work with Mrs Williams to ensure a positive outcome.
"By working together we can see the pathway from North Haven to Pilot Beach become a reality in the future," she said.
